I quote from the liner notes: "We'll investigate another country for it's release in the good old days from '77 '83. Like in all southern countries, there were not many punk bands in Italy. It seem, the hot weather isn't any good for this kind of fast, loud and aggressive music, we all like". All what i can say is: That LP had only cool stuff on it. You know the KBD series, one of the best addition to the Bloodstains compilations (if you don't know these albums you must live under a stone, haha). The cover is a detournement of the first DECIBEL album, "PUNK".
You can see the "dildo logo", of Decibel on the upper left.
The singer of this band, ENRICO RUGGERI, has a very popular career as a pop singer (but with great social lytics) and alternative TV host, and recently refoprmed the band to release a new album, not soo good unfoprtunately, that toured too..
The same record label, Spaghetti, released, among other records, the only album by JUDAS, a iriginal sixties garage rock from Bologna, that turned "punk" for that album (one is present here, along with a Decibel one), that contains some incredible tracks...
That album is very very rare and i cannot see turn out in digital form...
Their lead singer, MARTO', used to be a wildman and a legend, but died in a car crash...
Also the singer of S.I.B., TRACY SIROTTI, she's npo more with us..
On the career of Kandeggina Gang singer, JO SQUILLO, and her husband, GIANNI MUCIACCIA, the lead singer of KAOS ROCK, i prefer not to comment... From pseudo punk rockers to bourgeois BERLUSCONI television stars...
ANDREA MINGARDI SUPERCIRCUS on the other hand is a band that comprised members of the most important avantgarde/progressive italian band, AREA (check them out, and the DEMETRIO STRATOS records too, you'll be impressed, they could have been HUUUGE if thei were from UK), and with them and solo ANDREA MINGARDI used to play freaky crazy funk in bolognese dialect (stunning, really)...
And finally the HITLER SS / TAMPAX split was the first real PUNK DIY record in italy, before ATTACK PUNK RECORDS came...
And TAMPAX released several records of dirge punk and experimental music (check our SORRY NOT TONIGHT, a record that highly influeced SONIC YOUTH by their own ammision...
