And on with a great band that is second to none and I'm sure many German followers agree with me. 1983 in Mönchengladbach were founded Billy & The Willies by Ricki & Mick A on guitars, Mario (drums) and bassist/songwriter and vocalist Sonic. The Willies (the name was the product of a pub night) whose musical role models included the Butthole Surfers enriched their punk sound with every imaginable rock style. The lyrics are very special, emotional, partly funny and each a little world. Since their records were also sold in the U.S. and a musician from Surfers took notice and offered them a collaboration. The band declined because they don't want face the stress of the suspend commercial success. In the early 90s, a dark shadow fell on the Willies when guitarist Ricki was killed. The band could, and did not want to continue playing under their old name because without him there were no more Willies. However, they decided to stay together and founded The Devil In Miss Jones (taken from an American porn movie) in 1991, now with Sonic on guitar and newcomer A on bass. Cheese is the third and last album, released via BeriBeri Records and is full with first-class songs, "Kangaroo", "Here Today Gone Tomorrow", "Ideal$", "Inbetween", "Weird Kind Of Place", "Good Man..." and the very nice emotional "Good Night" to name just a few, count among to the Best I have ever heard from German land. This is the CD release with seven bonus cuts, including the rare Charles EP plus three unpublished pieces. Now enjoy the sound from a good band in a bad world!

THE DEVIL IN MISS JONES - Hey Jesus 1993

In 1983, the band Billy & The Willies were founded and the members were Ricki & Mika (guitars), Mario (drums) and bassist, songwriter and singer Sonic. The Willies (the name was the product of a Pub evening) their musical heroes are the Butthole Surfers, enriched their Punk rock sound with every imaginable style. The lyrics were mostly all one little world in itself. They released three wonderful albums before in the beginning of the 90s, a dark shadow came on the band because guitarist Ricky died. The band could not and would no longer continue playing under the old band name, because its no longer the Willies as they were announced. They decided to go ahead and in 1991 they founded The Devil In Miss Jones, Sonic was now playing guitar, Andreas now plays the bass. Soon they released two EPs and a 10'' and in 1993 all three releases were pressed on CD via BeriBeri and received much praise. The Devil In Miss Jones is punkrock out of the garage and change the myths of the history of rock and punk excellent with their wild playin'. Live they are ecstatic & unforgettable! Where other greeting Satan degenerate as a pose, they live in the merciless world of illusion between heaven and hell, the proximity of noise and pop to the struggle between good and evil to others. "...it's time to see the real devil", the rest must happen within you.

V/A - Going Nowhere Slow 1990

Another pearl is this international punk compilation. Released on the legendary german punk label Double A Records in 1990, the vinyl is marble red & yellow transparent and the bands on it are all incredible. Reiner uses his contacts to invite the bands to be part of this comp and this is one I can listen to everytime. Never boring spray all 17 songs an amazing power to me immediately straight into my heart. The successful mix of hardcore & melodic punk rock shows how many great bands were alive around the world. That's why I love such platters like these and I enjoy to listen to again & again. I think, this is the meaning of compilations at all. So if you love a varied sound grap fast and shake your ass.

THE LANDLORDS - Songs From The Backyarddesert 2007

From the cosmopolitan city of Oberhausen come these three gentlemen and I discovered this band when my beloved girl and I visit a concert with my friends of Van Hellsing in Aachen on February 2009. It was fuckin' cold that time but the small city excursion with a stop in the cathedral from Karl dem Großen (Charlemagne) was amazing and a tasty food afterwards was fantastic. Then the gig was quite unique and I became quickly hot. Their music I would describe as dark garage Punk'n'Roll and live they burn the whole fuckin' stage, reminds a bit of the brilliant Billy & The Willies, and everyone swings their dancin' shoes. These guys are very polite, funny & likable. Aachen remains an unforgettable trip with a cracking evening we had with you, Muchas Gracias! A second album is already in the works or already released but I never seen it. Visit them on their MySpace page and if you had the chance to see them live you should go there. B.t.w., under the name V.V.L. the boys made very good gloomy GermanPunk sound. ENJOY!!

V/A - Smelling Just Another Bad Breath 1986

The third release from Double A Records is this fine goodie. The label owner was always searching for bands around the world and so they sent plenty of material to Germany and the result shows this strong international compilation. A healthy dose of exclusive songs in a decent packing. I remember that I had to sell the record for lack of money, but I could take it again on a record fair, unfortunately without the booklet. Naja, es gibt schlimmeres! Have fun with this.
