V/A - Bloody Belgium 1997

Another unofficial release is comin' up now and I hesitated to post it because it's present in the net. But who cares, so I ripped my copy (besides, my rips are the best anyway, hähä) and it was the right choice. Let me give you some info from the back cover: "Being a very small country, Belgium's never had a lot punkbands around, but the ones that existed and made it onto vinyl are very much worth checking out. If you're not familiar with the original belgian punk stuff you'll get the picture after hearing this record." And so it is. Fantastic noises here and I have nothin' to add, except look around the net for the excellent Bloodstains compilations with tons of more rare Belgium stuff. Bloody Belgium is a great piece of vinyl, only hits, cool cover and lots of infos to every band/record. Merci!!

V/A - Belgique Putain Frigide 1996

Seventh homemade compilation in this theater from the CD-R bootleg label Get Baque Records. And in this episode they take a trip to Belgium and present us twenty five rare Punk/New Wave/PowerPop highlights from 1977-1982. Well, seventy-five percent of the protagonists are already known and represented on numerous compilations, the remaining twenty-five are worthwhile and interesting. That speaks once more for the variety of bands from the Euroheadquarters state. Of course you can say, "Oh no, not Belgium again" and do I need that at all? The answer is an unequivocal YES! Here we go...

1.Job In Town - THE BASTARDS
2.Nuclear Apocalypse - CHAINSAW
3.Working Man - STAGEBEAST
4.Just Like A Rainbow - ABLAZE
5.Le Prof À Mac Off - D.D.MAC OFF
6.Punk - DE STRANGERS
7.Flash - DOUCE VIOLENCE
8.You'll Be The One - HUBBLE BUBBLE
9.Saturday Night - JOHNNY PALERMO
10.No Monarchy - THE KIDS
11.The Fuzz On My Bag - KING LOUIS & THE MEMPHIS MAFFIA
12.I Am A Computer - MAD VIRGINS
13.Stooges - P.I.G.Z

RAXOLA - s/t LP 1978

Fantastic debut album by Raxola, a Belgian punk band which formed 1977 by Yves Kengen, who previously played in Bastard with Brian James. They are, with The Kids and Hubble Bubble, one of the three Belgian bands to have had the opportunity to record an album from the beginning of the punk era. They split up in 1979 after their record company fired them for becoming too progressive (!) but reformed in 2003. After two 7Inches and playin' some gigs they recorded a new album 'Guts Out' and brought it out on their own in 2017. Somehow the song 'Old Rat' has been in my head for days and I was not able to find the fuckin' band... doch nun endlich ist es vollbracht und ich kann wieder schlafen.... well, not everything is shit in my head. You find them as well on relevant compilations.
