V/A - England Belongs To Me #3 1997

Third part of this damn cool mini-serie which came via 77 Records to us. Eighteen rare UK smasher from 1977-1982. I know a quarter of the songs, the rest is new and I guess that their 7Inches appeared on small short-lived labels, or self-released, in small editions. Very good compilation in any case and the first two volumes can be found on the Posts By Country section which I re-upped. England Belongs To Me is presentable and in total there exist four of them (all strictly limited, I guess 500-1000 were pressed). Excellent Friday sound!

2.Oy! - LUCY

4.Sid Never Did It - THE SURGEONS
5.She's In Love - CHERRY POPPERS

V2 - Speed Freak EP 1978

Damn good debut record by this Manchester combo on Bent Records with three awesome KBD smasher and because I'm a lousy writer I steal a little Info: "V2 were formed in late 1976 by David Wilks and Mark Standley. Both were regulars at Bowie/Roxy clubs in Manchester and became aware of punk rock when Dave Went to see the Sex Pistols in Manchester. This seminal gig at the Lesser Free Trade hall, at which the Pistols were supported by Manchester bands, Slaughter and the dogs, the Buzzcocks, inspired the next generation of bands to come out of Manchester, the Drones, Joy Division, the Fall, and V2. V2 brought their Glam Rock past to the band, and quickly became a popular live act with over the top shows, explosions, smashing up their equipment, and bassist Stan the Man attacking audiences with his cricket bat guitar when they spat at him once to often. Their first single, released on Bent records, (small bent one) was released in late '77, and quickly sold out 3 pressings. It featured three songs, Speedfreak Nothing to do and That's it. It went into the alternative top ten on each release." Read the full V2 bio. R.I.P. David! Compilations featuring the band: England Belongs To Me and the brand new Greater Manchester Punk - matchless!

V/A - England Belongs To Me #2 1997

This unofficial release via 77 Records is another highlight of rare British punkrock jewels. Volume 1 is already excellent and this platte as well. The songs of these bands appeared in small editions and whose names are unknown to me, therefore peak when I discover such records. The layout is all right with info-sheet and on the back cover all small 7inch images. To that the decent songs which run pleasant through. Perfect!

3.Energy Society - BAD ACTORS
4.Lifeblood - MAG/SPYS
5.Bombs - MAG/SPYS
6.Foods For Fix - INDUSTRIAL CHIPMUNKS

14.Back On The Beach Again - MEDIA

V/A - England Belongs To Me #4 1998

Last part of this fine series and this compilation came out in a much less limited number (300 copies), but still kept the focus on the Queen's land. In the vein of the glorious Killed By Death, Bloodstains, Powerpearls or Back To The Front sampler this record is a Killer!!! with tons of rare material from the early punk days in Great Britain. This LP is a Japanese release so Discogs said and megarare. You could probably not find some of the original records for reasonable prices. Well, I can only say: a great selection of tracks, hit after hit, Essential!!!

THE BEEZ - The Beez EP 1979

Today I wanna post a few requests and let's switch to the UK and find this rare jewel. Originally formed 1977 in Chesham as 'Bloo Lite' then changed into The Beez, Robert (vox + guitar), Gordon (vox + guitar), Timothy (bass) and Paul (drums). They released two 7inches on their own label Edible. Excellent stuff how I like it. You should sample England Belongs To Me for more early classic UK sound. The Japanese label 1977 Records has brought a small re-release of this record out in 2010.

THE DALEKS - OK! EP 1980

Another superb record is this little fucker. The Daleks launched the label Exterminated Products in 1980 with their 3-track EP 'OK!'. The record stickers were accidentally printed without the copyright smallprint, so each copy was released with a folded A5 slip of paper with the correct label design plus lyrics and photos on the reverse. This appears to have been their only official release, and it's pretty good, if unmemorable. Rejected was used justly for the England Belongs To Me Vol.4 compilation (coming soon).

V/A - Year Of The Rats! 1988

Another damn cool record with massive rare stuff now: England Belongs To Me and Killed By Death and the Bloodstains series, all this compilations stand for rare & raw punkrock from the early glory days and this album as well. Released in a limited edition on black vinyl with green and black labels. Among the earliest entries into the punk reissue game, this comp has some now-standard classics and another of the original group of punk bootlegs compilations this one has become tough to find. Overall a very good LP, some of it (Urinals, Satans Rats) has since been reissued. Llygod Ffyrnig you can also likely find elsewhere. The Matt Gimmick tracks are originally Stooges tracks dating from 1970. Good luck finding a copy of this though. Some of the records comped on here are easier to find than the comp. Enjoy the following pearls:

1.Hot Wire My Heart - CRIME
2.Frustration - CRIME
3.I'm A Bug - URINALS
4.Ack Ack Ack - URINALS
5.Sex - URINALS
6.Time Enough For Love - FUN THINGS
7.When The Birdmen Fly - FUN THINGS
8.Waiting World - NEW CHRISTS
9.Burn My Eye (Live) - RADIO BIRDMAN
10.Year Of The Rats - SATANS RATS
11.In My Love For You - SATANS RATS
12.Pseudo Punk - O-LEVEL
13.N.C.B. - LLYGOD FYRNING
14.Rag - MATT GIMMICK
15.Ya Don't Call My Name - MATT GIMMICK
16.Hologram - URINALS

WAYWARD SKYLABS - Think About It EP 1981

Moving to Scotland and visit a short-lived combo from Dumfries (south Scotland) that played Mick's Club in Carlisle a couple of times. They recorded the Think About It EP at Northrock Studios in Carlisle early 1980 on the Noisy Campers label. This rare piece of plastic is a four track low-fi killer record which deserves the name kbd more than other useless shit and is surprisingly extremely melodic, especially the bass drives the rhythm forward and at last great lyrics. There's a lot of infos in the file from one member of the band and I can't say where I have found this. Anyway, you can find them on the England Belongs To Me #2 compilation and this only record is a nice litte gem from the Anti-Brexit area. Enjoy!

CHERRY POPPERS - She's In Love 7'' 1980

Obscure record by this nice band from somewhere in the UK and they put out this damn two-sided cracker on their own label Hiroshima Records. Very popular with collectors. The A-side shines with a fantastic punk'n'roll smasher which is about watching a bit of pornos (preferably with your girlfriend) while the flip is rather calm, with piano and classic swing elements, plus lots of money in the pocket but you can't get a woman who makes you happy (you should think about that), very funny. The title track is guest on the gifted England Belongs To Me #3 compilation. I don't know if it's urgently necessary to know more about this band. Who want, write a comment, until that happens, enjoy two sweet cherries plus a cool cover. That’s it.

THE VALVES - It Don't Mean Nothing At All 7'' 1979

"...The Valves are vital and undiluted amid the rock'n'roll fallout." (Sounds 11.11.78) - The Valves were one of the early punk groups from Edinburgh, Scotland. The band, chronicled in Henrik Poulsen's book 77: The Year of Punk and New Wave, featured Dave Robertson as Dee Robot on vocals, G. Dair/Teddy Dair aka Gordon Dair on drums, Gordon Scott or Pada on bass guitar and Ronnie Mackinnon on guitar. The band was originally called Angel Easy and were a pub rock group. They released three singles and then broke up in 1979, with most of the members quitting the music business. Both songs are catchy as hell and the last sign of life from this superb pub-punk band, released on Albion Records. Represented on numerous compilations, worth mentioning: Bloodstains Across the UK, Kilt By Death and England Belongs To Me # 4 (coming soon).
